Five Minute Friday word prompt- Trial
When people move into a new home, they often want to purchase new furniture immediately. I recommend moving in with the furniture you already have and seeing how YOUR FAMILY uses each space first.
Living in a pandemic has taught us most of our common spaces must be able to serve multiple purposes. Dining rooms across the world have become offices and kitchens serve as both food prep areas and classrooms.
I recently organized a basement storage area for a client. Part of the project was to transform the workout room into a swanky bar area.
The previous owners of the home had the room set up like a workout room. So, my client put an elliptical machine in the room when they moved in. After living in their home for about a year, the workout room went mostly unused.
They had a bar, extra furniture, and beautiful art work in their storage area. We had a blast getting their new adult space all set up. We “trialed” the bar and stools at various angles before finding one that would not show the back of the bar due to the mirrored wall.
The swanky bar turned out better than we imagined! My clients loved the room and were so happy they didn’t rush out and buy a room full of workout equipment when they first moved in.
I wonder how many times in life I just need to trial a different angle instead of moving on to something new?
I am all excited and obedient when God first gives me a creative idea. But, when things don’t work out like I hoped and prayed they would, I question if I even heard from God at all.
God has been whispering these words in my ear…
“Be consistent…results are up to me.”
I’ve taken this to mean.,,
Trial another angle.
Step back and try another way.
Don’t quit.
Keep showing up.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Gal 6:9

You did did well with your clients and gained some good insights. Over time I have learned to appreciate my engineer husband’s ability to fix and repurpose things. It means we have a lot of leftover parts, tools, wires, etc. that I would like to get rid of –but that is how he works. Creativity, persistence and looking at things “from a new angle” are all good!
