A few weeks ago, we talked about allowing the inside of our homes to reflect the changes in nature outside. As much as I love the look of all the natural “snowy” items in my living room, I am NOT interested in any more snow. It is time to add a little color! With Valentine’s Day coming up, I have the perfect excuse to jazz things up a bit… and so do you!
- Adding seasonal touches to your home does not have to be expensive or labor intensive. Here are a few quick, easy, and cost effective ways to decorate for Valentine’s Day:
Add a few pops of red or pink.
Pillows, mugs, valentines candy displayed in a container, or candles could all be used. Your options are unlimited! I bet you have some red or pink things around your house you can repurpose as Valentine’s Décor. Watch this video where I take a Christmas Candle from December into February!
Display Valentine’s items as a vignette on a tray.
Vignettes are groupings of items usually in odd numbers and at varying heights. In addition to adding character and texture to your home, they are easy to change when a new season arrives or just because! (I do that a lot). Remember, you can always shop your home instead of rushing out to buy more trinkets!
However, if you really want to buy a few cute seasonal items.. DO IT! Just pair those items with reusable neutrals ones like greenery, whites, and natural textures.
I created a Valentine’s vignette on a tray in my kitchen using lemons. Watch that video here. (The sky is the limit!)
Use printables or stencils.
I love creating seasonal signs with my Chalk Couture stencils or by using printables. If you want to talk about quick and inexpensive, printables are the way to go! Stenciling is also fun and easy especially when you use surfaces that can be washed and redesigned! Chalk Couture is my latest obsession! I recently became a Chalk Couture Designer and would love to help you create special home decor items for your home! See a video about Chalk Couture here.
I created a FREE PRINTABLE you can download right now. (See below)
Simply download the printable in the size you need (5 x7 or 8 x10) , print, and place in a frame. Voilà—-instant décor!

5 x 7- click here
The printables are actually statements of gratitude to God. Simple reminders that many of the things we prayed for in the past we currently have.
Everything isn’t perfect but Lord….we thank you!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. -Psalm 118:29
