Hey Hey! It’s Day 3!!! How are we doing???? Remember, days two and three are all about the kitchen!
Yesterday we talked about kitchen cabinets and counter tops. Today, we tackle the pantry…and if you are feeling frisky, the fridge too!
Annnnd if you haven’t done anything so far… SO WHAT! Today is a new day.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
Just like always, we are going to use my PILLS method!

1. Pull Everything Out
2. Inventory
Put like items together. Think about which things you use the most and in combination so you can make placement of storage containers more efficient.
3. Let Go With Gratitude
Check expiration dates and toss anything that is expired or that you longer in use. This includes food you purchased but you didn’t like! Perhaps you can donate to a local food pantry?
This will free up space in your pantry and help things stay organized longer.
4. Label & Contain
While it is really tempting to purchase cheap, flimsy, plastic bins, I really suggest investing in sturdy clear containers. Transparent sides will allow you to see your supplies and keep track of what’s still in stock. Clear bins are also easier to mix and match, which will help your space look more uniform.
Clear containers that are stackable are even better!! Every inch of space in a pantry counts…I call it pantry real estate!
Labels are really important in pantry organization. They make it clear for everyone in the house where pantry items items should be placed. You can invest in a label maker, chalkboard labels you can write on, or order pre-made pantry labels.
5. Style
I LOVE a stylish pantry with clear bins for everything. But….restocking is a habitual task for things like snacks, pasta, rice, cereal, chips, and other dry ingredients. The people in my house do well to put things back were they found them. Restocking would be…ALL ON ME! That being said I LOVE a stylish pantry! But if organized and functional works for you without a lot a style… that is just awesome.
Beauty is not the point here. The point is to help decrease your stress of not being able to find things, purchasing duplicates, and not having what you need. Our goal is PEACE!
If you decide to tackle your fridge…use the PILLS method and go!! You won’t regret it!
