It has been a long time since I’ve blogged. So many things have changed.
God led me to close the dance fitness instructor season of my life at the end of 2020. I spent the majority of 2021 mourning that loss and trying to figure out my next steps while acting like everything was just fine.
Just before leaving my fitness class, God whispered to me that I should make videos about decorating and encourage people. Decorating has always been something I have enjoyed doing for myself and others.
I began to make videos and posting on social media about décor, but I could not figure out how to make it a business or even explain to other people what I was doing.
So, I did the sensible adult thing and applied for a manager position at my job and put “that crazy decorating thing” off to the side.
The process was TERRIBLE.
One of my coworkers ended up getting the job after three long months of interviews. (She is a great manager and I’m glad she got the position.)
But I felt like a failure. (I didn’t get the job and HGTV had not called).
So, I decided to just decorate for the shear love of decorating.
I gave up on the dumb Instagram algorithm and mostly posted quirky videos on TikTok.
Last October, one of my sorority sisters hired me to organize her kitchen.
I had an absolute blast sorting, organizing AND making things pretty for her. She squealed in delight when I sent her video and pictures of her kitchen.
Ohhhhhhhh! That’s what you meant God!
Inspire and help other people make their homes havens so they can go out and change the world!

I was blessed with the opportunity to style Christmas trees for several families this past holiday season. I also completed a few organizing projects. The money I earned helped me pay my daughter’s college tuition.
It doesn’t have to EVER get to HGTV. God’s measure of success is different.

I’ve watched you struggle, pray, ask questions, make hard decisions, question yourself, and even witness you when you felt defeated.
I am now watching you as you evolve into your new self – more confident, finding your way, leaning and depending on who’s protecting you rather than those that are just watching you.

It was weird to read you saying you mourned it for a year, I DO miss you and Zumba class, still. In fact I went online TODAY and was perusing around for something, zumba or otherwise. And even though I knew you were not the instructor, I still checked…just in case….I think you are awesome, in many ways and inspirational. I’m so-so on the decor stuff but I think it really comes from the inner voice saying I need to organize MY closet and I am too busy putting out the fires in front of me, always having to prioritize and not enough time in the day. But definitely pay the bills and do what you can to enjoy, life is short, so buy the shoes, take the trip, eat the cake, squeeze your peeps and tell them you love them (I know you do) I personally think your strength is your voice, whether its talking about your own experience or tackling tough subjects. Anyway…Happy New Year! We’ll see what happens this year, lol!
Yes I mourned it for a year and I knew other people did too so I patted them on their backs and acted strong. I know God called me away from it then…who knows if it will be forever. I’m still a legal instructor!!🤣 soooooo you never know! Anywho, thank you for all your support and love throughout the years!!!!! It has meant the world. I need to come to the farm!
