It’s Friday and day eleven of the Five Minute Free Writes Writing Challenge! Christian writers from all over the world are writing on a one word prompt every day during the month of October! Today’s word is DEEP.
Perhaps it is my ADD or getting older, but I misinterpret text messages. After a few back and forths, I will call you for clarification and just to talk. I LOVE to talk! I probably say at least three hundred words to my husband’s two words. Deep conversations are invigorating to me. He prefers deep couch sitting. (eye roll)
Have you ever had someone say something to you and it was so deep, (profound, intense, intriguing), it literally blew your mind? Not just emoji mind-blowing but in real life?
My girlfriend Wanda, went waaaaaaaaay deep a couple of months ago during a sermon she preached at her church, entitled her message “The Faith to Release”. She shared the familiar story of Moses’ mother putting him in a wicker basket when he was 3 months old.
But she brought out a new truth I NEVER realized…
Moses was safe in his mother’s hands but he was never as safe as he became when his mother released him. When she was hiding him—she had to worry about being found. After she released Moses, she didn’t have to worry about his safety. As a matter of fact SHE got to nurse him and care for him. He was raised like a royal!!! (Exodus 2:1-10)–Don’t believe me…read your Bible.
Then she asked:—-
“Do we trust God enough to release what is precious to us (what we want more than life) to God and believe that God will manage it and either give it back or make us powerful and purposeful without it?”
My life more powerful and purposeful without what I have been praying, hoping, wishing, and kinda manipulating to get?
That’s deeeeeeeep and freeing.
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27
